I was looking around for an SG reissue but never found one. Instead, I found Mass Street Music, John Flynn, and Don Grosh guitars. I decided to buy this guitar instead of an SG, and specing it out was, at the time, both a lot of fun and a little intimidating. I learned stuff.
Grosh had just started winding their own pickups, and I took a small chance on them, riding the Lollar p90 high into my first (half) custom guitar, but they’re terrific, so much so that I bought one of them and one of the (new at the time) Grosh 327 humbuckers for my next custom project. They’re not as clean or as bell-like as Fralins and not as dirty or quite as rich as Lollars. The fretwork on this is likely the best example I own. Strung with thegts.co 10-48s. This guitar is everything a strat should be.
